THE ROAD TO NORTH LAKE IS FINALLY OPEN!

MOUNTAIN LUAU IS COMING UP SOON, CALL FOR RESERVATIONS

WEATHER

A week ago we were still getting snow, this week it is summer and the days are now getting into the high 60’s and have been sunny and nice.  Short pants and tee shirts are in order.  The nighttime temps are in the 40’s and it is perfect for a campfire and staring at the stars.

BISHOP CREEK

The creek has been running pretty hard and with the warmer temps it is REALLY running hard.  Fishing has been good for those who can fish the fast water and finding a slow spot or a small eddy has been crucial.  Salmon Eggs have been great as well as NIghtcrawlers with a short leader.  The trees are finally starting to get leaves and the grasses are turning green.  A group in Weir Pond yesterday went crazy with waders and Power Worms.

SOUTH LAKE

The lake is still very low because of the construction and the cold weather not melting the snow.  With the changing temps I expect the level to start to rise shortly and very rapidly.  The fishing has been super.  Red gold Thomas Buoyants are still the best lure and a lot of action with Kastmasters.  Bait fishing is good but most anglers have been choosing to use lures because they are catching so many fish it is easier to release with a lure.

LAKE SABRINA

The water level is coming up now with the temps and the fishing has remained great.  Nightcrawlers or Salmon Eggs have been best.  Good action with Thomas Buoyants.  There is hope that boats will be on soon making it easier to get to all parts of the lake.  The water level still remains the issue but it is up about 3 feet now and should start racing up soon.  The family had breakfast there this morning and it was great to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view.

NORTH LAKE

Reports remain great for the fishing.  Most anglers have been walking up but we watched the ranger open the gate this morning and were the first to drive up.  The road has a few wet spots but is in good shape.  Reports yesterday were red Pautzke Salmon Eggs and you would get lots of experience in catch and release.  Sizes were good, not huge and the fish were fatter than normal for this time of year.

INTAKE TWO

Still the most popular body of water, the Intake has been great for fishing.  Powerbait is the most popular.  Small Power Worms working great!  Lots of float tubers enjoying the fishing and the weather.
