Good fishing but cold Memorial Day

2011-05-31T14:33:07-07:00May 31st, 2011|

WEATHER                     It turned and has continued to be cold and windy this week.  We even got a little snow this weekend.  It has all melted, but made for a touchy weekend of fishing.  The weatherman is calling for continued unsettled weather.  Daytime temps have been in the 50’s with nighttimes in the 30’s.  One night over the weekend got down to 19.  The wind is pretty stiff today.

Weather better, Fishing improving

2011-05-25T16:56:20-07:00May 25th, 2011|

The cold weather is retreating and giving us some nicer days.  It is still chilly but the true cold is gone.  Today is windy but the temps are in the 50’s.  Nights are getting into the low 40’s.  Pretty regular for this time of year.  Next week is supposed to be even warmer.

The lake is ice free and finally starting to give up some fish.  A couple of guests […]

Weather turned cold

2011-05-17T10:56:55-07:00May 17th, 2011|

The weather turned cold this week with temps at night in the low 20’s and daytime temps in the 40’s.  We have had a bit of wind to go along with the cold temps.  According to the weatherman it is supposed to stay unsettled and cold for a few more days and through the weekend.  Hopefully it will then finally turn to summer and get some more regular weather patterns.

4 May 2011

2017-05-19T15:25:22-07:00May 4th, 2011|

We had a great opening weekend this year.  The weather was a little chilly in the 50’s but very comfortable.  Evenings were cold but the daytime made up for it.

The road to South Lake was closed just past Parchers Resort and those who walked up from there were surely disappointed.  I did not hear of any fish caught and only a few that even had bites.  There was a little […]

2011-04-25T16:14:04-07:00April 25th, 2011|

Hard to believe but the season is ready to open and we are ready to go!

DFG stocked the creeks on last Friday up to South Lake with nice fish.  The snow is melting and access is getting better everyday.  The flow is high with Edison continuing to work on the dam.  The road is clear and should be open to beyond Parchers for the opener.

Sammy has got the kitchen ready […]

We are only a couple of weeks away from the Season Opener!

The weather has finally turned to Springtime temps with beautiful days and great nights.  We are supposed to get a couple of days of cold weather towards the end of the week but then turning back to nice weather next week.

There is still a little snow around the Lodge and cabins.  Hopefully it will be gone by opener.  The […]

Well, winter is still with us.  We had a great December for snow and it has been clear and warm for January.  The watershed reports are in and South Lake is at 205% of a normal year for this time!  We should have plenty of water for the summer months.

Calif Dept. of Fish and Game has started a new licensing proceedure for this coming season where all licenses will be […]

Fishing report for October 20, 2010

2010-10-25T09:41:50-07:00October 20th, 2010|

Typical Fall weather with drizzly, rainy days and nights.  We have no snow but have been getting Fall showers with cold temps.  The temps run in the mid 50’s during the day and high 30’s to low 40’s at night.  It is just kinda yucky weather, not really raining and not really sunny.  Bring a waterproof  jacket and shoes.
